As the creator of this forum I suppose that I ought to be the first person to introduce myself here!
My name is Josie and most of you have probably seen me around at the Skye Club shows stewarding and accompanying my sister, Sarah. Our kennel name is Tsuki which some of you are probably familiar with from Tommy's boy Dylan (Tsuki Outlaw Star) and Jane's girl Misty (Tsuki Solastar of Brakemill). We have two Skye's sharing our house here, my Luna and her son, Freedom, who belongs to my sister.
I first got into Skye's when I was 10 years old at Crufts and ran into Jenny's Dillon at Discover Dogs and gave him a hug! I had always liked reading about Skye's but Dillon was the first real one I had ever seen and I instantly fell in love with him! Jenny was so wonderful and welcoming and let us join the Skye Club and sent me a picture of myself and Dillon from when we first met! Three years later, when I was 13, Dillon sired a litter and Jenny kindly let me take home the most naughty and noisy puppy of them all; my little Luna! Me and Luna have been through a lot in these last ten years and she is the biggest diva of a dog that I have ever met but she is my partner for life and I wouldn't trade her for the world! I have loved watching her pups and now her grandpups, Jane's Barney and Rosie, and am wishing them all the best for the future!
Outside of the Skye world I am a scientist, an artist and general geek! If you need any help with technology I am happy to give it a go and although I know people sometimes think I am a bit antisocial I am actually just really shy so please don't hesitate to talk to me if you see me around!

Welcome to the board Lousie - love the incognito user name! I suppose I had better introduce myself as well... Hi everyone, I'm Sarah and you may have seen me around, stewarding at shows or trying unsuccessfully to make Freedom's coat look like a Skye coat and not a sheep fleece. I gave up on that front. Josie has already told you about our Tsuki kennel and that we currently have two Skyes, Luna and Freedom, at home. Luna can often be found manning a discover dogs booth and attracting the attention of the public by barking! She loves the attention, she just also loves to shout about it. Freedom is my little teddyboo who just loves to dance. He showed when he was younger but the aforementioned fleece became a bit of an issue. In 2010 he achieved his Gold Good Citizen's award and was just about to embark on heel work to music competition when he was unfortunately diagnosed with congestive heart failure His medications keep his condition under control but stress is a no-no, so my dancing fuzzball won't get to show himself off - slightly gutted about that because he loves it so much. He's still the best dog ever, though. What else do I do with myself, hmm. In 2011 I was assessed for membership to the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, having worked for 3+ years with a local training school. I was accepted but although I adore working with dogs I wanted to concentrate on my own, the Skye breed and training an as-yet-unborn Skye puppy for heel work to music. I am currently a research student at Loughborough Uni, reading for my PhD in English Literature. My actual topic is contemporary horror film though, so it's way more interesting that most English PhDs! I'm also a qualified Tutor in the Lifelong Learning Sector - I currently teach Adult Literacy but can teach English from basic up to Undergraduate level. If my plans work out I should be a university lecturer in about 12-18 months time. Lastly, I'm also an Admin here so if you have questions, queries or want to report any problems, or dodgy users stirring up trouble then just message me and I'll try and sort it out. I'm also working on the Skye Club website so any feedback, suggestions or material for inclusion can be sent to me too

my introduction - now i've uploaded my avatar on attempt no. 28. some trouble with username too - wouldn't accept anything but 007 - so here i am! it is not such a bad name as daniel craig, according to local legend, lived round the corner from me in knaresborough, although no one here has actually ever seen him - and he isn't my favourite bond either. anyway, i have two skyes - oscar and florence. oscar is my first skye and in charge of all things. he guests at discover dogs and makes appearances in the show ring every now and again. he is a generally affable and amenable chap unless you are a bigger dog or a bicycle. he is happy to be interviewed for tv or radio - particularly by fragrant scottish ladies and is prepared to be ruffled by royalty in the course of his duties. he had a temporary set back 3 1/2 years ago with low thoracic cord compression, but had successful surgery at the liverpool vet hospital. florence is my girl. unfortunately i missed out on her puppyhood and early years, but she is now a keen walker (unless the weather conditions are inclement or it's a bit muddy or if the only walkway is wooden planks covered by chicken wire or the snow is too deep) and paddler (if the water is not too deep or fast flowing). she likes to wear a coat and her pink flashing collar in the dark mornings. she is queen of the settee and her mission in life is to supervise the calorie intake of the well-padded colliex, who is the other member of our little pack.

Hi I'm Nicola and my husband is Shaun, we have 2 kids Aeryn and Rian and as a family decided that the Skye Terrier was a dog for us, so we set about looking for a puppy. We got Misty (KC name Selena Sweet Delight) Last week and she is 14 wks old. She had setteled down with us really well and is very good on the lead. We are still getting there with the house training.
